Wind Speed (MPH) =
Air Temperature (ºF) =

  º F

What does it mean?

Wind Chill measures the effective temperature on unprotected skin. If you are snowmobiling, the speed at which you are traveling must also be considered. The chart below shows how quickly exposed skin can freeze:

Wind Chill Temperature (from above) Exposure Time Before Frostbite can Occur
0 to -25 degrees F less than 30 minutes
-25 to -75 degrees F less than 1 minute
-75 and lower less than 30 seconds
